Chedid Law Offices in association with Dentons and Elias Chedid come recommended, for the 9th year in a row and for the 5th time as a First-Tier law firm, by The Legal 500

Chedid Law Offices in association with Dentons has once again been recommended as a law firm specializing in the Banking & Finance and Corporate and M&A areas in Lebanon by The Legal 500: Europe, Middle East & Africa guide for 2019.

The premier Lebanese law firm that enjoys an exclusive association agreement with international law firm Dentons achieved six rankings this year.

1. On the Banking & Finance front, the firm was ranked for the 5th time as a First-Tier law firm, along with four other law firms.

Based on market research, the Legal 500 stated: “Chedid Law Offices in association with Dentons has experience of financial regulatory compliance, international financing transactions, project finance and general lending agreements”.

Managing partner Elias Chedid was singled out in the Banking & Finance field as having recently “acted for a consortium of lenders in relation to a multi-jurisdictional secured financing transaction, and having assisted a regional banking group with a comprehensive due diligence and document review process in relation to a high-value syndicated loan facility”.

Georgette Salamé was also praised as a recommended senior associate.

2. On the Corporate and M&A front, the firm was also ranked as a First-Tier law firm for the 2nd time in a row, along with five other law firms.

Based on both client reviews and feedback from peers, the Legal 500 stated: “Chedid Law Offices in association with Dentons has a reputation for advising on M&A, corporate restructuring, joint venture agreements and a wide range of commercial licensing and distribution matters, particularly in the retail and consumer product sectors”.

Chedid was praised for “advising a client on a cross-border share transaction in the financial services sector, as well as for assisting a private equity fund with the restructuring of certain international investments”.

Georgette Salamé was also singled out as a key senior associate.

3. In addition, as with the previous year, Elias Chedid was individually listed in the elite "Leading Individuals” lawyers’ list for the Banking & Finance field, which comprised this year only 7 outstanding lawyers nationwide.

4. Georgette Salamé was also listed, for the second year in a row, as one of the four “Next Generation Lawyers” nationwide for Banking & Finance.

5. Elias Chedid was similarly individually listed in the elite "Leading individuals” lawyers’ list for the Corporate and M&A practice area, which featured this year only 8 outstanding lawyers (down from 13 in the previous four years) nationwide.

6. Finally, senior associate Georgette Salamé was listed as one of the five “Next Generation Lawyers” nationwide for Corporate and M&A for the second year in a row.

The Legal 500 Series, now in its 32nd year, is widely acknowledged as the world’s largest legal referral guide. More than 300,000 corporate counsel are surveyed and interviewed globally each year.

The Legal 500 is an independent guide, and firms and individuals are recommended purely on merit.
